Benefits of Aloe Vera When Growing Cannabis

Many organic and non organic growers utilize the aloe Vera plant when growing cannabis as it has several beneficial roles in the grow room. Aloe plants are cheap and easy to acquire, easy to grow , and easy to reproduce as offspring’s will appear naturally that you can replant to keep your aloe crop running for a endless supply.  Aloe Vera is often used by growers as a foliar spray, pest deterrent, cloning agent, disease deterrent, for root development, and for nutrient deficiency’s.


Aloe Vera Cannabis Foliar Spray

There are two main ways growers use use Aloe Vera when growing cannabis. The first is as a rooting compound and the second is as a foliar spray. To mix up a foliar spray for cannabis you can mix 1 teaspoon of aloe Vera gel with 1 gallon of water. This can be mixed up and put into a sprayer to mist your plants. When using Aloe as a foliar spray most growers will spray 1 -2 times a week well in the veg stage. Aloe gel will start to ferment after 20 minutes exposed to the air so it is better to be used with in the first 15 minutes after cutting and exposing the gel. Foliar sprays are best to be done when the lights are out.


Aloe Vera Pest & Disease Deterrent For Cannabis

Aloe Vera when used as a foliar spray on cannabis plants can be both a deterrent for pests and diseases such as insects, mites,  fungi and mold. Aloe Vera has essential oils that when used in the foliar spray have a variety of anti-fungal and pesticide properties.  Aloe can be used up to 3 times a week to keep your plants stress free and clean of any pests or diseases.  To use a a mold or pest deterrent mix 1 tablespoon with of aloe gel with 1 gallon of water and shake or mix well.


Using Aloe Vera For Nutrient Deficiency’s In Cannabis

An aloe foliar spray can benefit the plants by providing micro and macro nutrients to the plants such as Vitamins A, C, E and B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12 in addition to Choline, Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc, Magnanese, Chromium, Selenium, Copper, Iorn, Potassium, Phosphorus and Sodium.  Aloe Vera foliar sprays can help the plants to intake the nutrients they need to thrive. Aloe Vera will also stimulate root growth and the overall health of the plant.  When using aloe for nutrient deficiency’s use a mixture of 1 tablespoon to 1 gallon of water.  This can be applied as a foliar spray or as a feed directly to the medium.


Aloe Vera Cloning Agent & Root Development For Cannabis

Aloe Vera can be used in place of your rooting powder or rooting gel when cloning and is amazing for root development. Aloe Vera contains natural growth hormones and natural rooting compounds that has been used as a rooting agent for over 120 years. Some growers use the mixture of 1 teaspoon of aloe gel to 1 gallon of water and use this mixture to soak their jiffy or rockwoll cubes before cutting clones. Another way to use the aloe is to cut slivers off the plant and use them to dip the end of the clones into using the aloe as a rooting gel. Using aloe as a rooting gel depending on genetics and the climate the clones are in you should see roots in as little as 5 to 10 days.
